It all started with a children's magic set. Over twenty years ago, that
set became Ryan's introduction to the art of magic... a creative field
to which he has since devoted a great deal of his life. A true ham at
heart, Ryan was entranced by the art of magic and was quick to indulge
in his local library's magic section. As Ryan progressed through school,
he submerged himself in magic literature and studied under several
professional magicians, including former President of the Society of
American Magicians, William E. Andrews. Under Mr. Andrews' tutelage,
Ryan learned the foundations for showmanship and professionalism —
knowledge which would enable him to build a repertoire of magic and
start him off on an exciting journey into the professional world of
magic.
Ryan quickly became one of the most accomplished young magicians
performing in the United States. Having begun his "part-time
professional" career at the early age of ten, he has earned several of
the industry's top awards and honors. In 1990, he became the youngest
person ever to win the Society of American Magicians Adult Stage Magic
Competition and was given the prestigious Kleinman Incentive Award for
Promise in the Field of Magic. The following year, he took first place
at Abbott's Junior National Stage Magic Competition in Michigan. From
there, he has gone on to perform throughout the United States and
abroad. Along the way, Ryan has made appearances at famous venues
including: Hollywood's Magic Castle, the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, and
the White House.

Though he pondered foregoing his education to pursue his passion for
entertainment, Ryan remained in school and continued to perform. From
corporate banquets to movie premieres and from school fundraisers to
private yachts, Ryan performed at a multitude of events.
Distraught not to find a college offering a major in magic, Ryan instead
found himself studying at the University of Pennsylvania, where he
majored in Psychology with minors in Fine Arts and Communications. While
his formal education always seeped into his approach to magic, it was
his continuous performing experience which most aided his creative
development. In addition to magic, Ryan soon found himself searching for
new applications for conjuring. Consequently, he explored the marketing
potential of his magic and showmanship, but also consulted, helping
others to use magical theory within theatrical and business
applications.
With over 17 years of performance experience, Ryan has come to meld
enigmatic illusion, a dynamic style, a strong liberal arts education and
an offbeat sense of humor... making him a unique entertainment force.
"Entertainment right on target."
